Umbwe Route Itinerary

6 Days | Challenging

The Steep Route - Shortest and Most Direct

Route Overview

The Umbwe Route is the shortest and steepest path to the summit, climbing straight up the southern ridge. It is a serious trek suited to fit, confident hikers who are comfortable with long, steep days at altitude.

Because the ascent is so direct, acclimatization is the main challenge. We build in the standard Barranco and Karanga camps to give your body the best possible chance, and our guides monitor your health every day.

Every Nyota climb is private: your group, your dates, your pace.
